Product Uses
Use VAP-R-LOK to embed polyester roofing fabrics to field areas of the roof prior to application of White Plastic elastomeric roof coatings. VAP-R-LOK is the specified fabric saturant for the roof system.
Surface Preparation
Surface to be coated must be clean, dry and free of dirt, oil, grease or any contaminant that would adversely affect adhesion. When recovering existing roof surfaces make sure surface is sound and does not have any moisture trapped in the substrate or insulation. Built up asphalt and gravel roofs must be removed and covered with plywood or O.S.B. before application of VAP-R-Lok and fabric.
Application
Brush, roller or heavy-duty airless spray equipment may be used. Apply VAP-R-LOK at rate of 50 sq. ft. per gallon when embedding polyester roofing fabrics. Polyester roofing fabrics are recommended on all roof applications. An .031 reversaclean tip and/or 3/8 inch nap roller are recommended.
Clean Up
Tools may be cleaned immediately after use with detergent and water.

Thinning
Thinning of product is not recommended, although, if necessary stir in a small amount of water.
Dry Time
Temperature and humidity affect the curing time. Cooler temperatures and high humidity will extend the curing time. Allow 24 hours before recoating. Consider all variables that affect curing to determine how long to wait before recoating. Be cautious not to coat too soon and therefore trap moisture between coats. Do not apply below 50 degrees F or if temperature will fall below freezing during curing process. Do not apply if it will rain within 24 hours.
Flash Point
