Acrylic Coatings
We will help you choose which repair system use.
Slider
Specification Chemicals, Inc. gives you a choice of three roofing application options. The system to be used is determined by the condition and substrate of your existing roof. If you’re not sure which option to use, we’re available to help. For any questions call 800-247-3932.

Below is a brief description of each of the systems:

Pol-E-Scrim Roofing System
Pol-E-Scrim Roofing System is used on roof surfaces of plywood, oriented strand board (OSB), cured concrete, or Dens Deck roof board. This system requires a fairly smooth substrate.

Also, keep in mind that the temperature and humidity affect the curing time. Do not apply the Pol-E-Scrim, Vap-R-Lok or White Plastic at temperatures below 50ºF, or if the temperature will fall below 40ºF within 24 hours. Do not apply if it will rain within 24 hours. Your roof is not dried in until the coating is completely cured.

Pol-E-Force Roofing System
Pol-E-Force Roofing System is used for re-covering applications when you choose not to remove the existing roof. The Pol-E-Force reinforcing roof fabric is more conformable than the Pol-E-Scrim, so it works well on irregular surfaces.

With this system, like the others, the substrate must be sound, dry, and dust-free. If moisture is trapped in the existing roof, it is recommended to tear it off.

The Pol-E-Force system also should not be applied at temperatures below 50ºF, or if the temperature will fall below 40ºF within 24 hours. Do not apply if it will rain within 24 hours. Your roof is not dried in until the coating is completely cured.

Metal Building Repair
Simply apply self-adhering Poly-E-Force to clean metal seams and coat with either 1300T White Plastic or 1300 Grey coating.

Application of Poly-E-Force on the roof seams of a metal building is a definite time-saver. The 1300T White Plastic cures dry and does not soften with the heat of the sun and does not become brittle. 1300 Gray can also be used as a finish coat. It is very similar to the 1300T but the cured gray color blends with the weathered galvanized metal so it is preferred if only the seams are being coated.

Roofing Descriptions and Estimating Guide

#1300T Reflective White Plastic
#1300T Reflective White Plastic is an elastomeric acrylic reflective white emulsion, formulated to cure a reflective white, flexible, waterproof membrane. The cured product has excellent tensile, elongation, flexibility, and recovery properties. White Plastic products for roofing and waterproofing are time tested since 1975.

Estimating
#1300T Reflective White Plastic is applied at the rate of 100 square feet per gallon for each coat. Application is with a nylon paintbrush, a paint roller, or with a commercial heavy duty airless sprayer. Two coats are recommended. Do not thin this product.
