REEMAY® spunbonded polyester is a high strength material used as a reinforcing fabric in cold roofing mastics. Composed of 100% continuous filament polyester, REEMAY® offers the roofer a material with unusual physical and chemical properties, replacing fiberglass mat or organic roofing felts.

REEMAY® has been successfully used with a variety of cold roof coatings, including: cut-back asphalt, asphalt emulsion, and acrylic emulsions. The coating manufacturer’s instructions or specifications should be followed for optimal results.

Water and Rot Resistance

REEMAY® spun bonded polyester maintains its physical properties when wet and is dimensionally stable during humidity changes. It did not rot after burial in soil for 5 years; REEMAY® retained all of its original properties.

Temperature Resistance

REEMAY® is a thermoplastic and can withstand continuous exposure to temperatures up to 350° F (177°C). For short periods, it can withstand exposure to 400°F (204°C).

Flammability

REEMAY® is listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. as a Class "A" material when used in the prescribed manner on non-combustible decks.

In addition, REEMAY® exhibits high resistance to splitting and cracking from thermal shock, low temperatures, freeze/thaw cycles, folding/creasing, and rough handling. Unlike fiberglass, it is non-irritating to the skin.
